NEW MUSIC THIS WEEKEND ON BANDCAMP!
We are continuing our vigilance during these uncertain times.
Brian Kenney Fresno plays the Warr Guitar,
a 12-stringed ungodly union of bass and guitar
while accompanying himself on drums and vocals.
His catchy lyrically fueled songs are a humorous education on all things Fresno.
The Future Is Fresno
A Rock Album, A Video Movie, A Pandemic Threat.
The Future Is Fresno is the 11th album and first full length film project by Fresno, California’s comedic rock genius Brian Kenney Fresno.
November 8, 2022 (Fresno, Ca.) From the blistering red buckle of the central valley’s bible belt The Future Is Fresno belches forth like an unvarnished indictment of the American Dream. Beginning with the ominous “Bat Shit Crazy” to the closing frolic of “Toe Nail Moon Saloon” - The Future Is Fresno careens through life in California’s heartland like a tragic opera, hopeful and joyous one moment - horrifyingly disastrous the next. Kenney Fresno’s unique take on everything from homelessness to systemic racism is laid bare for the curious observer.
The cautionary tale of Fresno’s brain baking tempertures and it’s choking acrid air quality should give pause to us all:
“From the rendering plants of West Fresno
To the suburbs of Woodward Park
There's a twenty year difference in lifespan
From where poodles and pit bulls bark” - Fresno Blues
Starting out as a modest 22 track double album (originally released on January 1, 2021) The Future Is Fresno eventually morphed first into a series of self shot lockdown videos and eventually blossomed into a full length 85 minute film project as it’s concepts painfully fermented during the continuing pandemic. While most consider Brian Kenney Fresno to be comedic in nature The Future Is Fresno also endearingly explores the melancholy of everyday life:
“Sometime is never
Oh you think you sound so clever
But of all the times to put me off to
This one lasts forever
You can’t stack sometime in the corner
Or store it under your bed
No interest when you save it up
You just get apathy instead
Apathy, apathy,
I can’t stand your apathy “ - Sometime Is Never
